My Roots

This is me when I met my girlfriend in the mountains surrounding Pokhara in Nepal.  She cooks a wonderful chicken madras, delicious dal baht with pilau rice with all the trimmings, and much more besides. I was very lucky to meet her.

Excellent and informative article, Dick. Are you sure she’s a girl?

  2. dickywagner Says:

Well, she’s female and used to be a girl.
She was a delightful lady, our host at 17,500 feet! She worked from about 4am to 10pm in almost total darkness in a medieval kitchen (with nothing more than a firewood fire for light and heat), at the last stage of a little known trek up to a peak near Pokhara. If it wasn’t for her endless cups of tea and blankets, I think frostbite would have set in.

Same old story though Dickyboy. How many people do I know have succumbed to the fairer sex abroad? Bloody hundreds. Isn’t it more practical just to chat up the blond girl living in flat number 9 downstairs?

  4. the bishop Says:

Is she any good in bed? It’s all very well being able to whip up a curry under the cover of darkness. Can she weave her magic between the satin sheets too? Is she a goer, Dick?

  5. the vicar Says:

Bloody set up a link to my blog. You ungrateful bastard.

PS. Will book a top class guest house on the 22nd. Do you want to go on the piss in Halle with me and Les on the 23rd. If so, I’ll book suitable accommodation in Halle for us all.

  6. dickywagner Says:

No, I’d say probably not, actually bishop, not a goer. Although she will perk up if caressed. Is that what you mean?

  7. dickywagner Says:

That sounds good, vicar. Just some cheap nasty place which does a good breakfast.
Les is on about a Greek meal prior to going on the pull in das Turm on the Sunday, but myself I might opt for a Japanese (the Reileck one) followed by that rock bar with half a skoda on the roof. I suppose you want a pub crawl as per the old days when you were vicar at Out Lady of Inlingua.
But hold on……how about a different town for the Sunday…..Zwickau?

ps. can’t you get Curtis along??

  8. Les Says:

I think you’re refering to “ganz in gegenteil” and it’s a trabant. I’ll all for a new town. Where’s the fuck is Zwickau and did you just put a pin in the map.

    Get a grip, Dick

  9. dickywagner Says:

I didn’t realise it had a name…..complete opposite of what? It may have been a trabant, but it was definitely only half of one.
Even I am getting nostalgic for the GDR now!

Zwickau is near the Altenburg, which would be handy for me. I used to teach some students at VW in Wolfsberg who commuted each week back to see their families. Not sure what it’ll be like.

  10. Les Says:

Probably a drap hole. But we can do it if we have too. Altenburg itself has got a brewery.

  11. Les Says:

    Should read “crap hole”

  12. dickywagner Says:

It’s only a suggestion even if it is a drap hole. I’m all for Halle on the Sunday, another town, or just crashing out at the same B&B – what’s your take?

  13. Les Says:

I’ll speak to the vicar and get back to you. Rest assured a quality evening in the making.
